WHAT IS USER CONTENT?
If you look on our website, you will find that our Terms of Use define User Content like this:
“User Content” means any content created by the User, based on the content of the Game or affecting the Game Client, such as (i) text, (ii) software, (iii) artwork, (iv) banner, and (v) work resulting from modifications made to screenshots or videos taken from the Game.
That's a bit dry, but to give an example, it includes things like fanart, fanfiction, home-made plushies, cosplay outfits, and all kinds of other cool things. Whatever our creative players come up with, pretty much.
However, there are restrictions on User Content, and this page will try to give you an overview of what's allowed and what isn't. Just keep in mind that the exact rules are what's stated in our Terms of Use, section 11. USER CONTENT.
WHAT ARE THE RULES?
To sum things up, these are the restrictions imposed by our Terms of Use when it comes to User Content related to Guardian Tales:
- User Content may not violate our Terms of Use.
- User Content may not be used for commercial purposes.
- User Content may not infringe on anyone else's content.
- User Content may not be offensive.
- User Content may not aim to harass someone else.
- User Content may not imply any relationship to Kakao (or our partners).
- User Content may not be harmful to Kakao (or our partners).
That may seem like a long list, but if you're creating something because you love the game, love making things, and want to share that love with other gamers, you probably won't have any issues with it.
Questions and Answers
1. Is there any problem if I make my own Guardian Tales goods?
There is no separate restriction on the production of their own goods by Guardians who give a lot of love to Guardian Tales.
However, please keep in mind that copyright law is violated if the produced goods are used for profit or commercial purposes.
2. I'm planning to create Guardian Tales goods. Can you give us design feedback?
Unfortunately, we do not give feedback on the production of goods separately.
3. Can you share open source files such as image files to create Guardian Tales goods and fan art?
Guardian Tales image files are not shared separately with individuals.

4. Can I use Guardian Tales BGM or images for events or festivals?
You are free to use Guardian Tales BGM or images for events, festivals, etc.
However, please keep in mind that copyright law is violated if your creation is used commercially or for profit.
5. Is there any problem if I freely extract and use asset files in the game?
Official image resources are provided through 'Guardian Tales Fankit'.
If a file that is not an officially provided image is shared and a problem occurs, you may be subject to legal restrictions.
Please refrain from extracting in-game asset files.
6. I checked a site that produces and sells unofficial goods. Is action possible in this case?
Guardian Tales resources cannot be used commercially or for profit.
If such a site is identified, please report it through our support ticketing system here.
7. Is there any problem with the User Content transforming Guardian Tales characters to GIFs and emoticons?
There is no separate restriction on the User Content activities of the Guardians.
However, please refrain from changing their specific characteristics and/or using them to promote violence/obscene content, etc.
8. Is there any problem with creating User Content based on the characters appearing in Guardian Tales?
In the case of User Content using characters appearing in Guardian Tales, there is no separate restriction as long as it is at a level that is generally acceptable.
- However, please refrain from producing pornography outside this category.
- In addition, if you create fan art and share it through our channels, etc., the post may be deleted if there are concerns about sensationalism because a specific part is highlighted.
Keep in mind that our official Discord, is a community that can be joined without age restrictions, so
please understand that actions may be taken according to our server rules and guidelines.
9. Is there any problem with creating User Content in the form of a game using Guardian Tales IP?
There are no restrictions on creating fan-made games.
However, please keep in mind that copyright law is violated if the game is used for profit or commercial purposes.
10. Someone else is stealing the fan art I drew. Is it possible to solve this?
It is difficult to be separately involved in disputes between Guardians that arise in regard to any User Content.
For a healthy creative community culture, please refrain from stealing other people's works or making baseless slander.
