The patch on December 14, 2023, included the following change to  Faint and Honor Lunagem Extraction (source):

  • You can no longer salvage Faint or Honor Lunagems using Mornstones.
    • All Faint/Honor Lunagems that were equipped before the update will be removed upon being extracted.

We understand that this may be unexpected, and we know there's a chance some of you may discover it the hard way.

Unfortunately, as this is an intended change, customer support cannot assist with recovering Lunagems lost through extraction.

You are still welcome to contact us in case you have questions or feedback about the change, but to set expectations, we want to be upfront that no Lunagems will be returned.
