Your Steam Account and your Eternal Return nickname are different. In order to change your in-game nickname, the [Name Change] item must be used to change your nickname.

Please open Eternal Return, and go to Store - ETC - Account - Purchase Name Change

The first name change is free, subsequent changes cost 1,430 NP.
